Stewardship

What is Stewardship?

Stewardship is about God’s gift to us and how we respond and build a loving relationship with him. When we give of ourselves, we grow in our relationship with God and in our spirituality. Giving back to God by using our gifts of time, talent and treasure is a personally enriching experience.

How do we get started?

Through prayer, you’ll figure out what you can give back to God of your time, talent and treasure.

  • Commit 2-4 hours per month to God’s work. This includes things such as being involved in St. Anthony’s as a member of the choirs, being a lector or Eucharistic minister, ushering, working the food pantry, visiting shut-ins, working on the housing initiative, and participating in the many opportunities to serve others in the Greenville area.
  • Develop and execute a statement for tithing of treasure. This is an anonymous statement of your intention to contribute to St. Anthony’s, which will help us budget appropriately.

More about tithing:

  • It is not about fund raising
  • It is not just a mathematical principle or percentage
  • It is about being honest with God
  • It is a commitment appropriate for you that you seek to grow over time
  • It is a decision you make through prayer
